Two teenagers have been rescued from commercial sexual exploitation, thanks to a National Human Trafficking Hotline tip.
According to 12NewsNow, the tip was received by police on March 1st, 2021. The caller explained that two 16 year old girls were being sexually exploited, which allowed detectives to identify the young girls. Authorities found the girls on websites used for sexual exploitation.
Three days later, the girls were located and rescued at a residence in Groves. 12NewsNow states, “A joint investigation with BPD, Nederland Police and Groves police led to the arrest of Jake Knight Jones, 39, of Port Arthur.”.
Jones has reportedly been arrested for two counts of trafficking a person under the age of 18, and is being held on a $1 million bond.
