Last week in Saint Joseph, Missouri, authorities announced that three arrests were made in a successful human trafficking recovery operation.
This joint operation involved the St. Joseph Police Department, the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Missouri Attorney General’s Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force.
Authorities conducted the operation at Bucky’s Travel Plaza, and Love’s Travel Stop. They ultimately arrested three individuals at the travel stops, with one arrest still pending. After the arrests, six victims of human trafficking were rescued. The victims included five females and one male, as well as two young children.
According to KMBC News, “The Attorney General’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force consists of law enforcement and victim service providers from around the state working together to combat human trafficking, rescue victims, and make communities safer”.
The Missouri Attorney General made it very clear that traffickers are not welcome, and that they will not be able to hide any longer.
